No New Posts The Owlery

the Owlery is located in the West Tower and delivers mail to students once a day, at breakfast - though more urgent messages are frequently delivered to student's dormitories. There are also a number of school owls, which can be used by students who do not own an owl themselves.

[The Owlery is to be used not only for RP, but for any owl based messages sent from character to character.
To send an owl, simply start a thread with the sender and recipient in the title, i.e.: 'Draco Malfoy to Blaise Zabini' and maintain your correspondence through the same thread

No New Posts The Herbology Greenhouses

The Herbology Greenhouses are the most likely place to find Professor Sprout, but beware of dangerous plants lurking around the place as you never know what's going to attack when you have your back turned. In the greenhouses you can do pretty much anything plant related from taking clippings for potions, potting new plants, to growing pot. (Note - this is a joke, do not start trying to grow pot in the greenhouses.. Well, unless you're really sneaky about it..)

No New Posts Hagrid's Hut

Hagrid can usually be found here, tending to one of his many animals/beasts. Friends of Hagrid can drop by for crumpets and tea any time. Aside from that, you will want to visit the hut if you're taking Care of Magical creatures - only a select number of students usually end up getting injured in such events.

No New Posts The Whomping Willow

By pressing a particular knot on the trunk, one can gain access to the passageway leading to the shrieking shack - although such information is not widely known.
For most of you, it's likely a bad idea to go anywhere near this thing. If you do decide to go on a suicide mission however, make sure you've got your name stitched into your underwear so we can identify the body.

No New Posts The Docks

The docks are a popular haunt of many students during summer due to not only the beautiful views when the sun is setting, but the fact that it's far from the castle and from roaming professors eyes. It is located to one end of the lake, and is probably the best place to go to if you want a summertime swim.

No New Posts The Forbidden Forest

Full of danger. Expect to get in serious trouble if you get caught wandering into the Forest. In this place there are Centaurs, Unicorns and maybe the odd werewolf here and there. As well as a whole hoard of Acromantulas who quite like eating school children if given the oppertunity.

No New Posts The Black Lake

With grassy banks that seem to stretch on for miles, the Black Lake is not only a popular haunt for students who want to get as far away from the roving eyes of Professors, but also the home of the infamous giant squid. This temperamental beast has been known to shower students in water as they sit by the shore, bat stones that come skimming across the water back towards the hand they flew from, as well as raising the odd tentacle just to alert the general populous of its presence. Don't forget to watch out for Mermaids and Grindylow's as well, they aren't the best tempered bunch.

Quidditch

No New Posts The Quidditch Pitch

A great choice for practising Quidditch, one of the worst choices to go for a sneaky drink. If you fall out of the stands when you've had one too many, it's going to be a death that you'll not recover from quickly. However, if you manage to find a way in, the somewhat cramped area beneath the stands can be a rather perfect place for a late night rendezvous. The pitch is also is the home of flying lessons and the ever vigilant Madam Hooch.

No New Posts Owl Post Office

In Hogsmeade's post office, at least three hundred owls, from Great Grays to tiny Scops ("Local Deliveries Only"), wait to carry messages. They sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination). It is also referred to as an "owl office".

No New Posts Zonkos Joke Shop

Zonko's is a favourite place for Hogwarts students to shop. They carry jokes and tricks to fulfill even Fred's and George's wildest dreams, including Dungbombs, Hiccup Sweets, Frog Spawn Soap, and Nose-Biting Teacups.

No New Posts Honeydukes Sweet Shop

A sweetshop, owned by Ambrosius Flume and his wife, which is filled with shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable. In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate.

Down in the cellar of the shop, amidst the boxes and wooden crates and known to only a select few people, is a trap door in the dusty floor - which opens to reveal a secret passageway to Hogwarts.

No New Posts The Three Broomsticks

A well-known inn and a frequent haunt of Hogwarts students. It's warm and comfortable, is packed to the brim most days, and is a great spot to drink butterbeer; although they also serve firewhisky, gillywater, mulled mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella. The owner of the bar is Madam Rosmerta.

No New Posts The Shrieking Shack

Rumored to be "the most haunted building in Britain," the Shrieking Shack is a favorite stop on any Hogsmeade visit.
The shack cannot be broken into from the outside; it must be entered instead through a secret passageway, the mouth of which lies under the Whomping Willow.

No New Posts The HogsHead

Located just off the high street, the Inn has been a feature for hundreds of years. The Clientèle are.. interesting, shall we say, and it isn't advised for most students to go drinking butterbeers in this place. (You never know what you could catch.) The pub is run by Aberforth; a generally quite odd and sullen fellow, with a peculiar fascination with goats...

A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off of the High Street.

Diagon Alley

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts The Leaky Cauldron

Built by Daisy Dodderidge around 1500 "to serve as a gateway between the non-wizarding world and Diagon Alley", the Leaky Cauldron has remained a famous and popular place for five hundred years. Located not in Diagon Alley proper but on the outside, on Charing Cross Road in the heart of London, the pub is tiny and grubby-looking, sandwiched between a book shop and a record shop where passing Muggles don't seem to be able to see it. Today, the shop is owned and run by a toothless old man named Tom, and also employs a dishwasher and a maid.

The tavern sees quite a lot of traffic and is frequently crowded. While this can be partly attributed to its reputation as a welcoming place, it also seems to largely be due to it location as a hub for Diagon Alley.

No New Posts Flourish & Blotts

A large wizarding bookshop filled with shelves stacked to the ceiling, Flourish & Blotts is the primary supplier of textbooks for Hogwarts, though of course that's far from all they sell. The shop holds occasional book-signings, such as when Gilderoy Lockhart stopped by a few years ago, and sells books via owl in addition to books purchased in-store. They also take advance orders for books that are in high demand.

In addition to the store's manager, who at times helps customers himself, the store also employs an assistant manager (paid 42 Galleons a month) and an assistant. The job is not altogether easy, as wizarding books might attempt to bite or simply be completely invisible, and fights - like the scuffle between Arthur Weasley and Lucius Malfoy that sent books raining down on everyone's heads - are apparently commonplace enough that a classified posting for a new assistant manager requires that he or she be "good at breaking up fights".

Knockturn Alley

No New Posts Borgin & Burkes

Some way down Knockturn Alley at number 13B, lies Borgin & Burkes; the most notorious of the alley's shops, which specializes in "objects with unusual and powerful properties", and particularly items that are both "unusual and ancient". The shop is quite large, dusty, and dimly lit, with a large stone fireplace, and is known to be frequented by families like the Malfoys. Its proprietors, Mr. Borgin and Caractacus Burke, are smooth talkers known to buy magical objects for much less than they're worth, and sell them for far more.

This is not a place usually frequented by Hogwarts students, although there are exceptions to any rule. Many of the items in the shop are dangerous and probably well best left alone.
