There are a few things that you may find on this group that may confuse you somewhat, and hopefully, you will find the answers to your confusion here.
To keep the game interesting, occasionally we are going to throw wild cards at you. Allow me to explain what they mean: a wild card will be a character/situation that we create randomly and then throw somewhere into the game. Giving you a short warning before hand that it's about to happen. Point will be awarded to students who think up ways to deal with the wild-cards, whether that might involve solving the situation, or spectacularly failing to solve the situation but entertaining us at same time.

When we decide to throw a wild-card into the game, it will happen with only a few minutes advanced warning. While we will enjoy seeing any attempt to deal with it, anyone trying to god-mod their way out of a situation without any effort, might find themselves being chased through the castle by an unrelenting mountain troll, or perhaps just Obsidian.
Obsidian is out resident Mary-Sue, a character that we have chosen to add to the game for the sake of a permanent comedic aspect.
A few key things you should know about Obsidian;
Now that we've got the basics out of the way, I shall give you a further briefing on who Obsidian is. Obsidian comes from a multitude of backgrounds, which will change at will depending on who she is speaking to. She
Oh, and just an extra add on, whoever can tell me (in response to this post) where Obsidian's name comes from, will get 5 house points - Just 'cos I say so
The Daily Prophet (as you likely already know) is the national wizarding newspaper, and it's efforts to keep the general populous informed of current events has rarely been matched.
A few times a week, the Daily Prophet will publish a new article for you to read, it might be an advertisement for a new kind of flesh eating slug repellent, or a report on the new laws surrounding the use of flying carpets. But make sure you read everything published in the paper. You never know when some seemingly innocuous article about beetle dung might turn out to have something more behind it....

- Example 1:
The potions lab has just been covered in a large gooey mess of unknown substances, Professor Snape is as angry as an insulted Hippogriff. The situation needs to be dealt with before he starts roaming the corridors and docking points from everyone he sees. - Example 2:
In the middle of the night, someone snuck to Hagrid's cabin and opened all the cages for his various creatures. Now, running all over the grounds, are a mixture of chickens, kneasles and blast-ended skrewts. Someone needs to get them back inside their cages before they make it into Hogsmeade and half-destroy the village.
Character examples:
- Example 1:
Obsidian Raven McBovril (our resident, mod run, Mary-sue) has entered the castle. She is going to join an interesting looking conversation, if she joins you, you'll have to think of a creative way of getting rid of her as she won't allow you to leave. (She is the queen of god-moding.) - Example 2:
Filch has fallen down a set of stairs, has bumped his head, and now thinks he's Spiderman. He's running around the school attempting to swing through the air with the greatest of ease and save citizens from attacking super-villains. Someone needs to get him into the hospital wing so Madam Pomefrey can work her magic, before Filch decides that Hagrid is the KingPin and attempts to wrap him in cobwebs.

::Obsidian Raven McBovril::
Obsidian is out resident Mary-Sue, a character that we have chosen to add to the game for the sake of a permanent comedic aspect.
A few key things you should know about Obsidian;
- She is ever-lasting. Our Obsidian, for some unknown reason, has the power to not only regenerate from any wounds, but can actually resurrect herself after any fatal injuries. Clever little witch isn't she?
- She is ageless. She can switch between any house years, sometimes even materializing as an adult in the Wizarding world at random.
- She's all about House unity. Well, OK, not specifically so - but she does have the power to belong to any house she chooses, as and when she chooses. So don't be surprised to see her as a Huff one day and a Slyth the next.
- She has complete access to anywhere. From all the common rooms, to the Headmaster's office.. That means, you never know when, or indeed where, she will show up next.
- She is aimless. She has no plot, nor no serious reasoning for being in the game aside from being here to amuse and occasionally annoy. She is not here to further anyone's plot, nor her own. She is simply here; always has been, and (to Dumbledore's dismay) always will be.
- She is easily summoned. If one of the mods are online and available to play her, or alternatively, if you see Obsidian herself online, simply PM her account or one of the mods and she'll be on her way if she can
