-Part Two-
:Your Character:
Name:
Harry James Potter
Age/D.O.B:
15; July 31, 1992
House & Year:
Fifth Year Gryffindor
Lineage:
Halfblood
Family:
Father was James Potter; Pureblood. His mother was Lily Evans Potter; Muggleborn. His Godfather is Sirius Black. He is also descended from Ignotus Peverell, one of the three brothers in the Deathly Hallows 'story.' He does not know much about his lineage.
Personality:
Harry is extremely headstrong and ambitious. When he puts his mind to something, it would take no less than death to stop him. Sometimes his voice of reason is drowned out by his own determination which can land him in trouble. but with the help of his friends, he always seems to come out better than he had been before. When he sees something wrong, he can not help but to try and fix it himself along with the help of his two best friends, Ron and Hermione. He is not extremely academic, normally relying on Hermione to help him with homework, but he does take pride in his Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. He is exceptionally oblivious and has a tendency to say things without really thinking about them twice. He is extremely loyal, which has been seen even since the first night at Hogwarts when he indirectly defended Ron to Draco Malfoy. He has a somewhat hard time always knowing what people are talking about since he grew up as a Muggle, but he catches on quickly and is usually learning something knew every day. He is defiant. Even if someone tells him not to do something, he will do it if he thinks it is for the ultimate good. He is not easily swayed and stands strong in his convictions. He is not usually self-centered (though he does have his moments) and tends to think of others' well-being before his own. He has a severe case of tunnel vision. He sees the ultimate goal and speeds through the straight path to get to the goal without always thinking about his peripheral. He is very nice. He will be nice to practically everyone even if that person is particularly annoying, i.e. Colin Creevey. He dislikes Pureblood elitists and hates being in the spotlight, especially for something he has no recollection of. All in all, though he doesn't necessarily like the reason he is recognized, he definitely lives up to his name.
Physical Appearance:
He is of average height, standing around 5'9, and has unruly black hair. He has green eyes and wears round black glasses. The most noticeable feature about him is the lightning bolt shaped scar situated on his forehead. He is rather scrawny, mostly due to the poor eating habits he was forced into at the Dursley's.
Avatar choice:
Daniel Radcliffe (grumble, grumble).
Character History:
Harry lived for one year in Godric's Hollow with his Mum and Dad before they were murdered by Voldemort. He then spent the next decade living with his aunt, uncle and cousin; the Dursleys. There he was forbidden from any kind of funny business that might be considered 'magic.' He was treated unfairly, living in the broom cupboard for the majority of his stay, wearing Dudley's old clothes which were far too big for Harry and eating whatever scraps were leftover. He has since graduated to his own bedroom, but the living conditions with the Dursleys is about the same.
He has met Voldemort a total of four times; once as a babe, once in hs first year, once in the Chamber of Secrets and again at the Triwizard Tournament.
His history and the canon history are exactly the same up through the end of Goblet of Fire.
Deviations from Canon?:
None that I know of yet. I shall update if I notice any deviations.
Other:
He has a snowy owl named Hedwig. Huzzah!
Short RP Sample
(a minimum of a 200 words, in the same style you will be RPing in):
*Harry lifted a hand to scratch his head as he paced absent-mindedly in front of the Gryffindor fireplace. The Ministry and the Prophet were still refusing to acknowledge the events of last year and he was beginning to wonder if there was anything he could do to convince them otherwise. For now, he knew he just had to stick to the truth and hope that someone would believe him before it was too late.
But could he do that? Could he let anyone else die because they chose not to believe that Voldemort was back? Cedric had been one too many. Even now he would wake up at night in a cold sweat remembering the jet of green light taking his schoolmate's life in an instant, the same way it had happened to his Mum and Dad.
No, he had to do something. But what? What would pull Fudge's head out of his arse and make him see that Wizarding Britain was on the verge of another war? What could he do to prevent even more people from dying? Who would listen to him.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he did not hear the sound of footsteps coming from the girls' staircase. It wasn't until Ginny was right beside him that he gave a start and stopped pacing.*
Oh, hey, Ginny. What are you doing up so late?
*He winced inwardly. He supposed she could ask him the same question. And how could he tell Ron's sister that he couldn't sleep because he was afraid of what he might see when he closed his eyes. It was an internal fight these days trying to fight the urge to want to see what Voldemort was seeing and to do what he knew Dumbledore wanted whch was to block those visions out. He rose a brow as Ginny just smiled, yawned and grabbed a blanket from the chair next to the fireplace.*
I left this here. Couldn't sleep without it. Goodnight, Harry. Get some sleep.
*He gave her a small smile and a curt nod as he placed his hands in his pockets. He watched until she left and then turned back to the fireplace and let out a sigh. This was ridiculous. He had to do something and pacing in the common room at all hours of the night was not going to cut it. He'd have to talk to Ron and Hermione soon. They needed a plan.*,
